I think comparable models have shutters rated for around 100k-200k actuations (though it could last longer), and the camera has only been out for 10 months, so what exactly is the concern? It would have had to be actuated thousands of times per day just to reach a fraction of its useful life.Įxactly. Provided there are fewer than 32K shutter actuations I used this site ( ) to pull the shutter actuations out of an image. Unlikely to have been used for event work so whats the problem? This viewer is slightly better in that it includes counts over 32767 - but it still rolls over at 64K because that is as much information as is available in the image file.
SHUTTERCOUNT FUJIFILM SERIES
The Image Count field displayed by these metadata viewers has all sorts of problems - early X series cameras didn't populate it until a firmware update, electronic, pre-shot and film simulation bracket shots are included and the counter rolls over at 32767. However, I have confirmed that images taken with the electronic shutter are tallied as well, so it may be an over-estimate of shutter use. Look for the "Image Count" field in the output. I don't have an X-Pro3, but I can confirm it works on the X-T1, T2 and T3 and X-Pro2 RAF files. It displays all the specialized/proprietary fields not included in normal EXIF as displayed in photo editing/viewing software. The actuations number seems accurate to what I would guess I've put on both too.Īnother option is to run the open source command line tool exiftool ( ).
SHUTTERCOUNT FUJIFILM FREE
I'm running the free version right now and can confirm it works with my X-Pro3 and X-T2 raf raw files. Just piping in with a solution to this for my fellow fuji users who might be selling or buying a camera body: I found a lightroom plugin that works specifically with fujifilm metadata, and one of its functions is to pull out a camera's current shutter count from an image. Basically those folder numbers have no relationship with the shutter count. I ended up calling Fujifilm Support and they told me the same thing. That web site has problems in getting an accurate count but it should be close enough on a new(ish) camera. There is not necessarily any relationship between the file number/ folder name and the counter in the metadata. Does that mean I got an "open box" camera with 50K actuations? There's no way the shutter count was at zero before I used it because the image file number started at 927 and the folder at 150_FUJI.

Just got an "open box" x-pro3 and tried to check the shutter count at but it only shows 5 which is the same amount of pictures I took.
